What we place here

What Zhejiang is built for

Zhejiang is where much of the fabric is made. For most products the question is not whether Zhejiang is involved, but whether the sewing happens here too.

  • ActivewearLeggings, sports tops, training

    MOQ 200 pcsBulk 8–10 wk

Much of the synthetic performance fabric is made here and cut in Guangdong or Fujian.

  • Hoodies & fleeceHoodies, sweatshirts, sweats
    Usually elsewhere

    MOQ 100 pcsBulk 6–8 wk

Fleece is cut and sewn mostly in Guangdong.

  • OuterwearPadded, down, shells, wool coats
    Usually elsewhere

    MOQ 150 pcsBulk 9–11 wk

Around Dongguan in Guangdong, or in Jiangsu for larger runs.

  • DenimJeans, denim jackets, skirts
    Usually elsewhere

    MOQ 200 pcsBulk 9–11 wk

    Around Dongguan in Guangdong.

MOQ per style; bulk from the approved sample; sampling 2–4 weeks on top. Specialisms, not a quality ranking: good factories exist outside their province’s specialism, and starting in the right cluster shortens the search.

Cities

Where in Zhejiang

The four cities the live site names in Zhejiang. The province is an upstream base, so most of the lines below are about fabric, not sewing.

City 01 · Zhejiang

Ningbo

Part of Zhejiang’s upstream base: fabric, yarn and synthetic fiber.

Placed case by case: the fabric side of an order, more often than the sewing.

Good to knowA port city on the coast, south of Shanghai across Hangzhou Bay.

City 02 · Zhejiang

Shaoxing

Woven shirting and fabric mills. Where we look when a dress or shirt starts with the fabric.

City 03 · Zhejiang

The provincial capital. Silk is one of Zhejiang’s strengths, with fabric and yarn.

Placed case by case: send the brief and we tell you where it fits.

City 04 · Zhejiang

Yiwu

Home to the Yiwu distribution complex; socks and small knit goods are part of the province’s mix.

We don’t place socks or accessories; apparel only.

When to pick another cluster

When Zhejiang is the wrong call

Zhejiang is where the fabric is strong. When the sewing matters more than the fabric, another cluster is usually faster.

  1. If you want a small cut-and-sew run

    Go to Guangdong

Guangdong is the downstream cut-and-sew base for small to mid orders, with the fastest sampling. Zhejiang fabric is often cut there.

    Guangdong cluster
  2. If you need sweaters or tailoring

    Go to Jiangsu

Jiangsu is known for sweaters, wool knitting and tailoring, and for larger, more technical, structured runs.

    Jiangsu cluster
  3. If it is sportswear at volume

    Go to Fujian

Fujian, around Quanzhou and Jinjiang, is the sportswear cluster. The performance fabric may still come from Zhejiang.

    Fujian cluster
  4. If it is not clothing

    Not with us

We place apparel only: no footwear, bags, socks or hard goods, and no fast-fashion drop-ship.

Chinese New Year applies everywhere: factories close for roughly 2–4 weeks in late January or February, and output drops before the break.

How the money moves

You pay the balance after the inspection. Not before.

The usual China horror story starts with 100% paid up front. Ours ends with a third-party inspector checking the finished order before the 70% leaves your account.

  • Go to Zhejiang when the fabric is the product: it leads on fabric, yarn, synthetic fiber and silk. For a small cut-and-sew run, Guangdong usually starts faster. Many orders use both: fabric from Zhejiang, sewing in Guangdong. The factory handles that; you approve the fabric at the sample.

  • Ningbo, Shaoxing, Hangzhou and Yiwu. Woven shirting and fabric mills are around Shaoxing, and Yiwu is home to the distribution complex.

  • From 100 pieces per style for knits, jersey, wovens and dresses; 150 for outerwear; 200 for denim and activewear. Custom-dyed fabric can raise the minimum per colorway, because the mill sets the dye-lot minimum, not the sewing line.

  • Sampling takes 2–4 weeks. Bulk takes 8–11 weeks from the approved sample, depending on the product. Custom fabric has its own mill queue, so approve the fabric early. Plan around Chinese New Year, when factories close for roughly 2–4 weeks.

  • The factory quotes you and bills you directly. A 30% deposit starts bulk, and the 70% balance is paid only after a third-party inspection of the finished goods. Our fee, if any, is quoted in writing before any work starts.
